Apron or Pan conveyors typically consist of two strands of roller chain separated by overlapping plates, or “aprons”, which form the carrying surface. Apron conveyors are engineered to handle a variety of materials ranging from hot and abrasive to dry and fine. Pans are designed to absorb the impacts of large lumps and repeated loading. They can handle inclined conveying with minimum spillage or breakage, as well as provide cleaner discharge and more durable continuous service.
